When your young person needs to have treatment with a needle, it can feel very hard for them.

There are lots of things they can do to help themselves cope - we have made a list of suggestions here.

When you go to an appointment with your young person, there are lots of ways you can support them.

​

Your behaviour and the things you say can have a big impact on how your young person experiences their treatment.

Some things can make them feel better and more empowered, while others could make them feel more worried.

It can be difficult to know which is which, especially in the heat of the moment.
